Why does the liquid level in the continuous casting mold fluctuate?

1. Slag

We know that the crystal phase in the slag film in the mold copper tube and the primary blank shell increases, and the blank shell is relatively stable, but when the mold slag is used with high alkalinity, viscosity and crystallization temperature, it will cause unevenness. The shaking will cause the fluctuation of the crystallizer liquid level.

2. Secondary cooling

Generally, the traditional secondary cooling we use is weak cooling, which cannot reduce and increase the high temperature of the slab shell surface. On the contrary, it will aggravate the bulging tendency of the slab, so that the liquid level of the mold is likely to fluctuate.

3. The molten steel is overheated

The temperature of the molten steel in the mold is overheated, and the flow rate of the liquid surface is too slow, which reduces the temperature difference between the molten steel and the copper plate, which will increase the solidification rate and cause the liquid level to fluctuate.
